Annular Style Combustors
ZK2000 annular combustor for Center for Clean Energy and Technology, Shanghai China
Prototype Manufacturing and Testing
Results for atmospheric test show good correlation with CFD (FLUENT™) simulation. Scaling the combustor by Mach Number preserves the aerodynamics, stoichiometry, reaction zone temp, and residence time scales within the combustor. Brayton empirical models are used to correct kinetic models for pressure and Reynolds Number effects.
Brayton test cell provides preheated unvitiated combustion air for atmospheric combustor qualification tests, employing Mach Number scaled conditions. By this method, emissions, pattern factor, and wall cooling analyses can be checked for engines up to 20 MW
